About Jason Rodd
Shortly after Roddy commenced tutelage in Gold Coast shaping bays his immaculately nished work saw more and more surfers chasing his crafts. JR Surfboards was born, and from then it has gone from to strength to strength, over the years having crafting boards for the likes of Josh Kerr, Kieren Perrow, CJ Hobgood, Taj Burrow and now with a dedicated team boasting world class surfers Wade Carmichael, Keely Andrew and Dion Atkinson.
In recent Years, Roddy’s shaping talents have not just been focused on developing his shortboard range, but has gathered a global appreciation for shaping bigger wave boards, garnering result’s like Dion Atkinson’s Quarter Final finish in the 2014 Billabong Pro Tahiti and Keely Andrews top 10 CT finish in 2017. Also, Wade Carmichael’s surfing in rogue conditions have allowed Jason to ‘step up’ his big wave shaping game. Wade’s Success in the Hawaiian Triple crown events, Sunset and Haleiwa has attracted a watchful eye from plenty of Hawaiian shaping specialists. The combination of Jason’s shaping ability and Wade’s lack of respect for heavy lips will make for an exciting partnership to keep an eye on throughout Wade’s debut year on the 2018 WSL world tour.
Jason insists that the JR brand remains boutique. Each board is still hand-shaped by Jason and is treated as though it’s JR’s own team rider’s event winning craft. Roddy believes that all feedback is beneficial to the development of his technologies and brand, and welcomes input of all kinds. In 2018 with a solid roster of high profile team riders endorsing the brand, JR has experienced solid growth despite a tough economic climate flooded with Chinese imports… They’re no match for the top quality, high standard and golden reputation of JR surfboards!

Nachos Custom Surfboards is a relatively new comer to the shaping game and one of the only few people making surfboards right here in Sri Lanka. Nachos Custom Surfboards are all hand made on site, using quality blanks, resin and fibreglass which have been imported from Australia. This ensures his finished product is strong and will retain its quality finish.
Nachos is specialising in retro single and twin fins, which are super fast, super fun and extremely well suited to the waves here in Sri Lanka. Nachos is also willing to have a crack at any other board you may want, including traditional thrusters, bigger fun boards or just about anything else.
